Lodge Executive Committee Meeting Minutes

The Lodge Executive Committee met on March 15, 2008 in Florence just before the CSR Cub Leader Dinner.  Below are the minutes of that meeting.

On Saturday March 15th, a Lodge Executive Committee meeting was held at the VFW in Florence . In attendance were Nate Morin, Warren Castonguay, Zach Summers, Harry Searles, Eric Frary, Sean Carollo, Mr. Gunnells, Mr. Parent and Mr. Walz.

The Lodge Banquet will be held on April 20th at the First Baptist Church in Pittsfield. The highlight of the meeting will be the announcement of the Vigil candidates and Founder’s Award recipients. The entertainment will be a game of Scouting Jeopardy. Hunter may be inviting special guests from the Region.

The LEC was invited to attend Allogagan Lodge’s banquet on April 6th at 6:00. We will extend the same offer to their leaders to attend our banquet.

The committee discussed and approved a new award called the “Memsochet Service Award”. The award is meant to recognize Arrowmen who exemplify cheerful service. There are members who are always at functions, working hard and helping out. We want to recognize them with a certificate or plaque, and a patch, pin or dangle.

The Conclave is on June 13-15 at Camp Greenough in Yarmouth. Each Lodge will furnish their own tents. We talked about where everyone should meet so we can travel together. Mr. Gunnells is setting up the website so people can register online.

Beaver Day is June 7th at Chesterfield Scout Reservation. The lodge has been asked to put up some tents for people who are attending Cub Fun Day. We’ll set up the rest of the tents at the Spring Ordeal.

We also talked about creating a set of new flaps for elangomat service. If you are an elangomat at an ordeal, you get the top flap. If you get 30% of your clan to become Brotherhood members, you get the bottom half. This will encourage the elangomats to keep in contact with their clan and recognize their service to the lodge.

I, Warren Castonguay am looking for articles for the newsletter.  If you want to write one please send me a email and I will get it added in there as soon as possible. You can email me at lodgesecretary@memsochet.org.

We also cooked dinner for the Cub Leaders’ Summer Camp dinner. We had spaghetti, sausage, salad, bread and pudding. Thanks Mr. Searles for your effort.

Lodge Secretary,
Warren Castonguay
