100th ANNIVERSARY GENERATIONS CONNECTION

The Strength of Family I can remember spending some time with my Dad on those long ago weekend Father & Son camping trips back in my home troop. I also remember some stories of his Scouting involvement as a youth, and that of my older brothers.  More recently, my wife and I were involved in Cub Scouts for several years together (that’s where we met), and helped to provide a program that our nephew was participating in. Nearly every youth experiences Scouting with members of their family.  The degrees of family involvement may vary, but ultimately, Scouting provides the opportunity to strengthen ties between family members, create great family memories, and develop a shared family foundation of worthwhile virtues and values. Strong families build a strong foundation for America.  Scouting is a legacy that can be shared throughout generations of families with lasting impact. It provides a constructive outlet for the family engagement that is essential for building healthy families and good citizens. A part of Scouting’s 100th Anniversary Celebration, the Generations Connection is a way for youth and families to explore past, present, (& future) family connections to Scouting, and the ways that Scouting involvement has positively impacted those individuals & their family.
